Child Wise is a social enterprise of Save the Children Australia. They work with organisations that provide services to children to help them build a strong child safe culture and environment for children and young people in their care. They provide child safety training (online and face to face), consulting, coaching and accreditation services to build the capacity of executives, staff and volunteers to meet state/territory and national child safety standards and principles.
In 2017, Save The Children Australia announced a merger with Child Wise. This is one of a number of mergers they have undertaken to strengthen advocacy and services delivery for vulnerable children in Australia and internationally. Established in 1991, Child Wise has over 25 years of pioneering experience in keeping children and young people safe from harm, specialising in preventing, and responding to, child abuse.
This brief focuses on a review of the Child Wise’s child safety training programs. To date, these programs have been delivered face to face to the public as well as to corporate clients all across Australia. Due to social distancing measures from Covid-19, Child Wise have pivoted to delivering these training programs in an online format. They are now looking to lift the standard of online training delivery to a format that is more engaging & impactful, so participants can retain and apply the learning outcomes.
