The Brief

Centre for Hope provides an opportunity for young disadvantaged people to be heard, respected and acknowledged. They foster hope by curating programs and workshops that focus on developing; Self Esteem, Emotional Intelligence, Mission & Goal setting. Centre For Hope provides coaches and mentors who are strong role models for our young disadvantaged youth, as well as supporting families and carers. They believe in community and that it takes a village to raise a child. The organisation offers a range of services to meet the above goals. They include; School, Leadership & Social skills, Programs, Coaching & mentoring, Drop-in centres, Parent groups & Song nights.

This brief focuses on supporting the coaching and mentoring activities of the Centre of Hope by designing a concept for a new digital platform. The aim of this digital solution is to engage and support the ongoing coaching requirements and development of the participating youth / students. Currently, students may be entered into a program (leadership for example) and receive 1 on 1 coaching sessions with a coach and a workbook to complete. This brief looks at how we can use a digital solution to enhance the engagement and experience for coaches and participating students.

  1. Research and define the user needs of the youth target audience and validate with regards to how they may use a mobile version of the platform to support their engagement.
  2. Design a solution that represents the key functionality required by the target audience and design this in the form of a wireframe and/or prototype.

Your mentor will guide you every step of the way!
