From the Founders – Jan20

2020 has kicked off with a bang at Harness Projects. In January, we filled up our first Career Launcher UX program for the year and students have now commenced the first of their 3 real company projects.

2020 has kicked off with a bang at Harness Projects. In January, we filled up our first Career Launcher UX program for the year and students have now commenced the first of their 3 real company projects.

In their first project, students will be learning the fundamentals of UX design by completing an end to end UX design process on a project brief provided by Communiteer.  Communiteer is a social platform that connects volunteers with organisations doing social good. Each of the initiatives that run through their platform are mapped to the UN sustainable development goals, how great is that!?

In other news, and we know many of you had been waiting a little while for our next single Upskiller UX project to be announced! Well, we’re  happy to say, that enrolments are now open for a UX project with The Swag, kicking off on March 17th.  The Swag are a sustainability brand that have received high praise around the world for their innovative approach to reducing food waste and single use plastics. Oprah Winfrey even uses their Swag bags! Both these UX projects highlight a core principle that Mike and I want Harness to fully embrace and that is, provide excellent real world learning experiences on projects that have a meaningful impact on the world around us.

Another example of what happens when education teams up with industry to move important initiatives forward can be seen in our recent UX project with Westpac & Head Start Homes. Check out our media release and hear from Head Start Homes Managing Director, Stephen Woodlands on his experience engaging with our UX students on a project to improve access to home ownership for those in need.
