Yuxi Liu

As a senior UX researcher at Coursera, Yuxi passionately advocates for users through user-centered design research and compelling storytelling. Her research insights inform both near-term design decisions and long-term product strategy. From concept testing, foundational interviews, to contextual research, Yuxi is adept at choosing the best methodology for uncovering in-depth insights within project constraints.

Before joining Coursera, Yuxi worked as a design researcher in a variety of settings from an EdTech nonprofit, an education foundation, to a design agency. Prior to her pivot into UX, she was a management consultant where she honed her analytical systems thinking and presentation skills. During her spare time, she mentors junior UX researchers and volunteers on pro-bono UX projects for great causes.

Alexis Lim

With over 15 years of professional experience navigating business challenges to deliver customer benefits and commercial success, Alexis knows her way to unify teams through a strategic design vision and cultivate HCD capabilities from the ground up. Having collaborated with global and national brands across various industries, including financial services, insurance, telecommunications, automotive, and FMCG, Alexis brings a wealth of practical knowledge to share with emerging designers. As the leader of a design team at Macquarie Bank, she finds fulfilment in guiding others to apply design thinking concepts and advocates for the adoption of experimentation and measurement of UX effectiveness in digital journeys.

Natalie Pauchard

Natalie has extensive experience in conducting user research to inform digital strategies, driving design enhancements and advocating for customer-centric solutions. She has collaborated with diverse organisations, including government agencies, technology companies and academic institutions. In her most recent role in UX at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry, she informs the digital strategy across the program in Guidance and Support.

As a Senior UX Researcher at Atlassian, she drove research initiatives by encouraging senior stakeholders to implement customer-centered research strategies, educating multidisciplinary teams on psychological research methods. She enjoys influencing decision-making processes to develop workable solutions. She has supervised and mentored junior team members, including provisional psychologists. She designed innovative research methodologies that supported remote testing and implemented changes in company-wide research during the Covid-19 pandemic, conducting successful change management initiatives.

Before her role at Atlassian, she was a Senior UX Consultant and Psychologist at Objective Experience, where she acted as lead consultant on multiple user research projects, ensuring the validity and reliability of research data. She was also a speaker at the government conference in Canberra on customer-focused service delivery, during which she presented how she successfully managed a large scale UX project within the mental health sector.

She also has sound knowledge of software engineering, contributing to the development of new features to enhance the customer experience, addressing UX issues and leading to company-wide acknowledgement of the high impact this has on customers. Natalie brings a wealth of experience in teaching, conducting user research, driving customer-centric solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Andrew Woods

Andrew Woods has more than 13 years of experience working in UX, with a background in Graphic Design and FE Development. He has worked across various spaces, designing innovative e-commerce experiences for AirNZ and a full NEON redesign at Accedo. Andrew has experience working for small start-ups and large corporations like Pushpay, Les Mills International, Young & shand, TBWA to ecoPortal and is now Leading UX at RMS CLOUD. His passion for UX lies in solving problems that create value by understanding the users’ needs and behaviours while keeping up with current UX trends, AI, and research methodology. Outside work, he loves to travel, play music, and work out.

Raj Palanivel

Raj likes himself to be called as Product Experience Owner. He strongly believes that a designer’s influence on the technology choices and business models can help deliver a delightful, meaningful and loveable end to end experience. With over 18+ years of industry experience in User Experience Design,

Raj has led several successful experience design outcomes ranging from a small end to cutter to a large aircraft simulator and from a one-page booking app to some of the most complex enterprise level industrial software applications.

Raj currently heads the Global User Experience Design Group for Honeywell Building Technologies business unit. Over the years, Raj has coached several designers and design leaders in solving complex high value problems with ease using contemporary design methods.Raj is a songwriter, trained pianist, music organizer and an arranger. He enjoys freestyle cooking ! Raj lives in Atlanta, United States with his wife and twin children.

Matt Webb

Matt started his journey in design 22 years ago, revelled during the Flash Era, embraced the swing to accessibility and HTML & CSS, shiny web 2.0, HTML5, now the swing to user centric design and the rise of mobile and the plethora of digital devices and interfaces that now inhabit our lives.

More recently, Matt has been broadening his skills across a range of mediums & managing teams for media company Newscorp and currently running the user experience & design team at Fetch TV, Managing a 12 strong UX & Design team, based in Sydney and Kuala Lumpur covering a range of disciplines from Visual design, UI Design to UX Design and Research. Planning, designing and delivering the next generation of user interface for Fetch’s flagship TV Experience to the living rooms of over 1/2 million Australians.

Since owning his own Design Agency some years ago, Matt took a big interest in helping out and mentoring up and coming designers, he assisted in the creation and teaching of a web design course at Shillington College at the Sydney & Melbourne campuses and has given the occasional lecture at UTS in Sydney.
